Thank you.* Cryptomator – A free tool for encrypting cloud data. The issue is probably related to restic issue #2708ĭid restic help you today? Did it make you happy in any way? The issue was discussed in the user forum here: Maybe there is a property or two of that mount point folder that restic needs to handle better? Restic seems to be able to access the sub folders of the mounted filesystem and everything above the mount point, only the root folder gives it trouble. I'm guessing it is having trouble with accessing the mounted file systems somehow.ĭo you have an idea how to solve the issue? restic is producing an error trying to read the root folder. All software other than restic seems to be able to access the filesystem and the files within it. The folder "UofT" (in the logs above) is an empty folder over which a Dokany user space filesystem is mounted by Cryptomator. Try to back up the contents of the vault to any archive using restic.ĭo you have any idea what may have caused this? Using Windows Explorer, add some files and folders to the vault.Ħ. Configure the new vault to appear as a custom mount point using the Dokany file system and any empty folder on your C: drive.ĥ. Within Cryptomator, create a new vault.Ĥ. The following message is displayed before restic terminates the backup process:ģ. Successfully back up the contents of a Dokany mounted filesystem starting at the root directory. This is apparently causing an issue with Dokany FUSE, since it looks like Dokany does not fail when attempting to open a directory as a file.įor instance, the () program (written in Go), fails with the following error when trying to copy files out of the Dokany fuse mirror: This is based on various bug reports that involve encfs4win:įrom what I can tell, the Go programming language will attempt to open everything as a file first and then (only if that fails) does it try opening it as a directory (see ). I tested one of the last () from appveyor CI I have updated Dokany to the () and have reboot my computer after. I can always reproduce the issue with the provided description below. My issue is valid with mirror default sample and not specific to my user-mode driver implementation (fuse mirror) PS C:\Users\Chris\Robust\Backup> ls 'C:\Users\Chris\Robust\Client\UofT\'ĭirectory: C:\Users\Chris\Robust\Client\UofT Warning: at least one source file could not be read No parent snapshot found, will read all filesĮrror: NodeFromFileInfo: Readlink: readlink \\?\C:\Users\Chris\Robust\Client\UofT: The system cannot find the file specified. Normally, we can access the mounted directory and all its files using all Windows software. The Dokany mount point is located on the local file system. We use Cryptomator with a Dokany mount point to access encrypted files on Google Drive.
